Hi, my name is Patricia. I'm an artist and I'm going to show you how to draw a grand staircase in 3D. So to start off with, I'm going to draw the railing of the staircase. Now when I draw the staircase, I like it to be something like this. I always think of Scarlet O'Hara and those big, you know what, these lines, let me use a thicker pen, there we go. I always think of Scarlet O'Hara and her walking down the beautiful staircase in her home. Now here we have the railing and here the spindles of the railing and we're going to bring this up here. Notice how it gets smaller and closer together as it goes up and then again on this side, we'll bring it down to here where it's very wide but then as you go up, it gets smaller because it's farther away from the viewer. Alright, so here are the railings and then we have the staircase itself. Now you might have more stairs that go up here and then here is a flat area and then you can walk down here. Now I'm going to do arced lines for my stairs. Alright and so then to give it more dimension you can add lines like this, up and down. Obviously if you're using a pencil you're going to be doing more shading than I'm doing but here my shading is going to be lots of little lines. And then this will give you the feeling of stairs. Notice how my line is still curved and this is going to go all the way down. Alright so you get the idea here and then for the railing to give it dimension and here you might even want to do like lines like this for the flat floor and then for the railing we'll do curved lines to make it look circular or rounded of course, and you can make it fancier if you'd like but this is how I'm doing it. Oh, and then here on the large one again my curved lines and there you go. There is your grand staircase in 3D. Enjoy.
