Hi, my name is Erik, I'm an artist, and I'm going to show you how to draw and shade a curling ribbon. So, let's start with the top part of the ribbon here, it's going to curve and it's going to do that, and bring it down. O.k., then it's going to curve around. Let's draw a straight line here, and draw how it curves around this way here. And you're going to want to draw a straight line here, finish this. And then, you're going to want to show how it curves around and comes down this way. And draw a straight line here, just keep it spiraling downward. Follow the lines there, and actually, let's add it, as it curves up a bit more on that side. Then, bring it down over here. And then, have a straight line here, bring it down this way, and end it here. And let's just do one more of this coming out this way, and curving down, tapering of. O.k., and then, you shade this, let's say, your light source is coming from this direction. It's actually going to be darker on the other side of the ribbon. So, this portion will be dark on the inside, here and here, and under here and up here, and down here. And then, slightly in here. A little bit to the bottom there. And that is how you draw and shade a spiraling ribbon.
