Hello, my name is Ray. I'm an artist. Right now I'm going to show you how to draw ruffles in sketches. Now the way this works is let's use an example. Let's use a shirt as an example, a shirt with ruffles. Okay so I need to give you an example of that. Let me draw the basic shape of the shirt for you and this is just a basic shape, no big deal. Now, let's say I want to put ruffles on the collar and the sleeves of this shirt. The way you would do this, now all ruffles are in basic illustration, are a repeat pattern of lines one on top of the other like these are ruffles, like with an endpoint. Now that's just a top layer of ruffles so you can't really consider that ruffles just yet so you go under and you basically repeat the pattern under the first pattern, but you just complete it. So same with the arms. You are doing a general pattern and right under it you're repeating the pattern without the lines necessary closing but they all meet. So there you have it. There's a quick example of how to draw ruffles in sketch.
