Hi, my name's Patricia, I'm an artist and I'm going to show you how to draw chains step by step. Alright, so when you begin to draw a chain, do an oval and then do another oval and that will be your first link. Alright, and then just do an oval here about the same size in length as the outer circle here or the outer oval and then again, here you know what, this has to go up a little bit more because it loops through so I corrected that again. Let's do another chain, I'm going to do the outside circle first or the outside oval and then I'm doing the inner oval. Okay, and then we'll do one more of these and so we have four links so let's do that again. We have an oval like this and then an oval like this and then another one on the outside and then another one here and here. So these are our links for the chain, now lets shade them. So chain links are circular, they're rounded so you can shade in the outside and keep the inside of it, don't shade it in that will be where the light shines off more so if you have a pencil just as you get towards the center of the link shade it less or don't press as hard on the pencil and this way I am creating dimension and then again you know if you want to add some crosshatching in here in the way of the, in the form the link you can do that as well so basically angled lines and there you have it, there is your chain, enjoy.
