Hi, my name's Jessica, and I'm an artist. And today, we're going to work on drawing tree texture. So, the first thing we're going to do is, we're going to draw our tree trunk. Now, it depends really on the tree that you're drawing, but most trees do have one thing in common, and that's that they all have bark. So, a lot of trees have this sort of rugged exterior to them, these various lines coming down the tree connecting in certain places, keeping a little bit of distance in other places. And then, the way that you are going to really accentuate this texture is with shadowing. So, you'll color some of these parts in, and leave other parts not colored in, to show the texture of the tree. So, depending on how big your tree is, you're going to probably spend a couple minutes doing this, just basically going back and forth on the different parts. And, you can just kind of draw maybe some lines down. And, each piece - each line that you draw, symbolizes sort of a layer of the bark on the tree, and elaborates on the texture. So, there's your basic outline of the tree. And then, you go back through, and color in the pieces to give it a little bit of different shading and style. And, when you're done, you're going to have some really nice tree texture all the way across. Take your time, and use different colors to create those lights and darks. And, that is how you draw tree texture.
