Hi, I'm Jessica, and I'm an artist. And today, we're going to draw mermaid scales. So, let's just draw our basic mermaid real fast. She's hanging out on the beach. Here's her shape. Maybe she's leaning against the rock, or looking at herself in the mirror, or what have you. And, then we have her lovely mermaid tail, which is going to come down and around, and she's got the fins. Okay. So, the fins are a little bit different than the top. The fin scales just have these kind of lines across them, but the scales themselves basically have these curved lines. And then, the next row go in between where the last one was, so they start over. It's almost kind of, like, a brick pattern. And then, the new one starts on top, and inevitably they're going to get a little bit larger as you go. You want to try to keep them about the same size. And, there we go. And, as you can see, a pattern is starting to develop on top of the fin, row by row. Here we go. And, I'm just going to finish up our tail here. And, when we're done, you'll see that the scales all sort of compliment each other, and work together to create the tail. As you get closer to the bottom, you see you run out of room, so they get a little bit smaller again. But, that is how you draw mermaid scales.
