Hi, my name is Patricia. I'm an artist and I'm going to show you how to draw shadow and light. Now first here's the ground. You're going to draw just the outline of a person and then I'm going to draw the light source which is the sun and this is shining down towards the person. Now when we have this we're going to have the shadow which the light source is coming from this direction so the shadow is going to be like this. So that's the dark whereas the light is going to be around here because this is the lightest part of the person, the brightest. Alright and then in the back is the shadow. Again let's do this again with a circle or a sphere. Again the light is going to come from this direction so you have this part, is the lightest part and then you get into the shadow. This is the darker part of the circle, the shaded part and then let's say it's sitting on the ground and then you have the shadow. Now I know I'm drawing this white but imagine it's a very dark color. And this is the shadow. Alright, so you have the light, the dark, the shadow, the light source, again the person and you have the lighter part which is the one closest to the light, the shadow part which is further where the light is not shining and then the shadow. So that's shadow and light. Enjoy.
