The 18th birthday is a milestone for most people; it means you're officially an adult. To celebrate this special occasion, have a huge birthday bash. To entertain guests and mark the moment, create a picture slide show of the 18-year-old's life set to music from different eras or music that suits the picture's mood.
For an 18th-birthday slide show, gather photographs from each milestone moment throughout the person's life. Start with a picture of the child at birth, then add first birthday and other special moments such as the first day of school, trips to the zoo, vacations and best friends. Try to gather at least four or five pictures for each year leading up to the 18th birthday. If you are including pictures with other people, make sure you don't leave anyone important out to avoid hurt feelings.
Choose songs to go with the slides. Start the slide show and baby pictures with a song such as "Beautiful Boy" or "Brown-Eyed Girl." If the person played sports, add in songs such as "Eye of the Tiger" or "We Are the Champions." For pictures with friends, try "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" or "Lean on Me." Include the birthday person's favorite song somewhere in the mix and end with a birthday song such as "What a Day for a Birthday" or the traditional birthday song.
Tie in the Number 18
To make the slide show match the party theme, tie in the number 18 wherever possible. For each section of the slide show, you could have 18 photos. Toward the end of the slide show, before you begin showing current pictures, have the number 18 scroll in or come in by some other visual effect such as spiral. You can add in text and special effects via software.
Add Quotes and Captions
Throughout the video, add in quotes from family and friends about what the person's 18th birthday means to that person. Mom might say, "My baby is all grown up and I couldn't be prouder of the man he's become." You can add these quotes as text or include short video clips of the quotes, then a few pictures of the 18-year-old with that person.
