Since its purchase by Google in 2007, FeedBurner has undergone a series of upgrades and changes that have greatly expanded the number of free tools available to Web masters. One such service is the ability to deliver media-rich emails produced from your site's RSS feed to website subscribers. Some people have expressed the need to stop FeedBurner from sending digests of old posts. This problem is usually associated with a few specific issues.
Things You'll Need
- FeedBurner account
Stop editing old posts with new information, links, images, video or similar items. FeedBurner is not equipped with a filter to distinguish updates from new posts and will often send old posts with recent updates to subscribers.
Deactivate the FeedBurner "Email Subscription" service. Log in to your FeedBurner account. Click on the feed associated with your website from the main list. Click the "Publicize" tab, and then click "Email Subscriptions" in the left navigation pane. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Deactivate" button.
To reactivate the email service, click the "Activate" button. FeedBurner will show only new posts from now on.
