How to Troubleshoot a Dolphin Diagnostic DC Pool Cleaner

Save

The Dolphin Diagnostic automatic pool cleaner from Maytronics is a direct current, or DC, powered pool floor and wall cleaner. The Dolphin Diagnostic features scrubbing, brushing, vacuuming and filtering capabilities and is suitable for use in pools up to 40 feet in length provided there are no rounded corners. The unit is supplied with 65 feet of cable and a removable, reusable filter bag.

  • Remove excess air from the Dolphin if it fails to sink to the bottom of the pool. Invert the entire unit to remove air trapped in the filter. With the Dolphin still inverted, grasp each brush with a hand and squeeze to remove trapped air from the bristles.

  • Verify that the upgrade side panel fins are installed if the Dolphin falls onto its side. Remove the dolphin from rounded corners.

  • Turn off the Dolphin and inspect the moving parts for obstructions if the Dolphin turns in circles. Clean debris from the filter bag and inspect the track system for excess wear.

  • Reposition the power supply if the Dolphin fails to reach all areas of the pool due to inadequate cable length. Verify that the filter bag is clean and the pools drain cover is properly installed. Manually remove algae buildup from pool if the Dolphin cannot propel fully.

  • Remove obstructions from the impeller and drive system if the Dolphin fails to propel forwards.

  • Remove excess slack from the cable if it becomes twisted or coiled in the pool. Clean the filter and verify proper brush selection if problem persists.
