How to Stop Cold Pipe Condensation From Dripping
When you have cold water pipes in a warm environment, such as when the summer's heat and humidity kick in, you can end up with a condensation problem. While the pipes having some condensation on them is not a problem in itself, it can become troublesome when the condensation builds up enough to start dripping. 1
Run a dehumidifier near the cold pipe. It will help stabilize the moisture level in the air and the humidity level, which can help cut back on the pipe condensation.
-
2
Buy adhesive foam pipe insulation from a hardware store or home improvement center.
-
-
3
Dry off the pipe to remove all condensation using a large towel. Be sure the dehumidifier is running nearby during this process.
-
4
Wrap the adhesive foam pipe insulation around all areas of the pipe that are exposed, including pipe fittings. Once insulated, the dripping condensation should no longer be an issue.
