How to Insert a Banner Into HTML in Joomla!

One way to promote your products is to add HTML banners to your Joomla! website. The Joomla! CMS (content management system) features an HTML editor. However, the editor is not ideal for inserting banners -- instead of being located at the top of the Web page, they appear lower. This results in an awkward look for your site, as well as low visibility for your ads. By placing the banner at the top of your Joomla! page, your site remains visually pleasing and your ads remain highly visible to your visitors.

Instructions

1. Download a Joomla! banner extension module such as Banner Slider, FlipWall, Kimoona Ads and Sponsor Wall. To download a module, simply click the "Download" button that is located beside the module.

2. Log in to your Joomla! administration portal. To access the portal, type "http://www.yourwebsite.com/administrator" into your browser's address bar. Press "Enter." Type your Joomla! administration username and password. Click "Login."

3. Click the "Extensions" tab. Select "Extension Manager" from the drop-down menu.

4. Click the "Install" tab. Click the "Browse" button that is located in the "Upload Package File" section. You will then be able to browse your computer files for the downloaded extension package. Double-click the file.

5. Click the "Upload and Install" button to complete the upload process.

6. Click the "Extensions" tab. Select "Module Manager."

7. Locate the uploaded banner module. Place a check mark in the box located beside the module. Click "Publish" from the Joomla! toolbar to activate the module.

8. Click the box located beside the banner module. Select "Edit" from the Joomla! toolbar. You can then insert the HTML code for each banner you wish to add to the top of your Joomla! pages.

9. Click "Save" to save the changes to your module.
