How to Repair the Electronic Controls on a Whirlpool Dryer

Whirlpool's newer front-loading dryers have an electronic control panel, located on the top of the front panel of the dryer. The control panel allows you to operate the dryer, choose the cycle and select cycle modifiers such as wrinkle guard and the temperature of the air used to dry your clothes. Unlike old-style dryers, which have an analog timer on the control panel that is replaceable, electronic control panels that malfunction must be replaced entirely. Does this Spark an idea?
