Pergo floors are a type of laminate flooring that is designed to look like actual hardwood but that is easier to clean and maintain than traditional hardwood floors. While Pergo recommends the use of a dry broom or damp mop for cleaning and maintenance of the floors, you can use the Shark steam cleaner to clean the floors. Be aware that Pergo does not recommend the use of wet mops to clean. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Vinegar
  • Bucket
  • Mop

Instructions

    • 1

      Sweep the Pergo floor with a regular broom to remove excess dirt and debris.

      Mix together 1 gallon of warm water with 1 cup vinegar.

      Apply the solution to the floor using a cloth mop.

      Fill the Shark steam mop with distilled water and plug it into the power supply.

      Attach the included microfiber pad to the bottom of the head and wait 60 seconds to allow the steam cleaner to heat up.

      Run the steam mop over the Pergo floors, squeezing the trigger to dispense steam onto the floor. Do not hold the steam mop over one area for more than 10 seconds to prevent puddling or overheating the floor surface, which can cause damage.
