How to Text a Music Symbol

Save

Instead of sending a generic text message to your friend, you can add symbols to show what you want to say. For example, instead of saying you're listening to a song, you can use a music symbol to show you are listening to it. You can even add a music symbol to a set of lyrics you text to a friend. You must send these texts via the computer to a cell phone so the music symbol shows up on your phone.

  • Open an Internet browser of your choice and log into your email with your user name and password. Open a new email message.

  • Type the phone number followed by the email provider's domain in the "to" field (see Tips).

  • Type the message in the body of the email. Hold "Alt" and the number "1" and "3" to make a single music note or "Alt" and "1" and "4" to make a double music note.

  • Click "Send" to send the email as a text to your phone.
