How to Put the Foam on a QuicKutz Scrapbooking Die
Used as the letters and shapes for displays, projects and to spruce up bulletin boards, die cuts have long been a teacher's best friend. Die cuts create cut-out letters and shapes in one step so that the user doesn't have to trace and individually cut out each one. Scrapbookers also use them as embellishments for their page layouts. To use the QuicKutz die cutting system you will need ejection foam, a thin layer of foam that covers the blade to ensure that paper does not get wedged into the cutting knife's edges.

1
Choose your QuicKutz die cut letter or shape of choice. There are two sizes --- 2-by-2 and 2-by-4.
-
2
Peel away the sticker backing from the ejection foam and place the foam sticker-side down on the die cut design. For a 2-by-2 square die, the foam will cover the entire surface of the die cut. However, the 2-by-4 die cut will use a long, rectangular ejection foam that will not cover the entire surface of the die cut. According to QuicKutz, as long as most of the figure is covered the foam will work properly. Ensure that the blade edges are covered by the ejection foam.

Press down firmly on the foam to adhere it to the side of the die cut. Proceed with the rest of the QuicKutz die cutting instructions to make your die cut.
