Have you ever had a desire to place a top hat on a polar bear? Or maybe you would like to put a giraffe in that lovely picture of grandma at the Grand Canyon? It can be fun to manipulate photos so that you put an object from one photo into another. With digital photos and editing software, this is possible. Adobe Photoshop Elements has the tools needed to do this. You'll be Photoshopping yourself on top of Niagara Falls in no time!

  • Open the photo that you want to pull an object from.

  • Use the lasso tool, and trace carefully around the object.

  • Go to the "Select" menu.

  • Choose the "Feather" option, and feather the selection by about 5 pixels. This helps to smooth the edges of your selection.

  • Go to the "Edit" menu and choose "Copy."

  • Open the photo you want to insert the object into.

  • Return to the "Edit" menu, and choose "Paste." Your object will be pasted into a new layer. From there, it can be moved around and placed wherever you like.
