How to Remove Afloat From a Mac

If you have installed an app such as Afloat from the Mac App Store, you may struggle to uninstall the application. Afloat is an application that forces chosen application windows to stay at the front of your display. You do not uninstall an app through the App Store; instead you use the usual removal method. Uninstalling applications in Mac OS X is far quicker and simpler than in Windows due to the application file management method in the Mac operating system.

Instructions

    • 1

      Click "Applications" on the Dock.

    • 2

Click and drag "Afloat" into the Trash icon on the Dock.

    • 3

Hold "Ctrl" and click the Trash. This opens the right-click menu.

    • 4

Click "Empty Trash." Afloat will now uninstall.

    • 5

Click the Apple logo on the task bar and then "Restart." This will completely remove Afloat.
