Sarongs are beach cover-ups common throughout Hawaii and other tropical areas. When tied a certain way, a large rectangular can transform into a halter dress or skirt. After wrapping a sarong, women can tie the two loose ends together in a knot or use a sarong clip for a decorative touch. Sarong clips are made from coconut shells, seashells, wood, plastic or bone. They add a nice complement to sarong skirts.

Position a rectanglular fabric lengthwise and hold the top edge against the back of your waist. Hold the top right corner of the fabric in your right hand and the top left corner of fabric in your left hand.

Wrap the fabric around your waist and bring the corners to one side to make a skirt.

Pull the two corners of fabric through the holes in the sarong clip and pull tight. Tie a knot in the corners for added security.
