Megaman is the title character from the Megaman gaming franchise. He debuted in 1994 on the Super Nintendo gaming system. Since his game debut, he had been seen in sequel games, anime series and comic strips. Instead of purchasing a pre-made costume for your next costume party or for Halloween, consider making your own using cardboard and spandex clothing.
Things You'll Need
- Spandex tights
- Spandex shirt
- Cheerleading spanx
- Fabric dye
- Utility knife
- Spray paint
- Duct tape
- Flash light
- Winter snow glove
- Hot glue
- Motorcycle helmet
- Modeling clay
Wear blue spandex tights and a blue spandex shirt. Choose a light blue coloring. This will contrast with the darker armor. Wear a dark blue metallic colored pair of cheerleading spanx over the tights. Spanx are similar to spandex underwear. If you cannot find the right color, dye them with fabric dye according to package directions. Tuck the shirt into the tights and spanx.
Cut a piece of cardboard using a utility knife into a 12 inch by 24 inch rectangle. Repeat this with a second piece of cardboard.
Use blue metallic spray paint to paint the cardboard pieces. Allow them to dry completely. Wrap the pieces of cardboard around your legs, one piece per leg. Use duct tape to secure the cardboard in place. Spray paint the duct tape with the metallic blue paint. Allow it to dry.
Cut a second piece of cardboard using the same method as the prior step. The piece should also be 12 inches by 24 inches. Spray paint it with the metallic blue spray paint and allow it to dry. Wrap the piece around your right arm and duct tape it in place. Spray paint the duct tape with the metallic paint. Carry a flashlight in that hand.
Wear a plush winter snow glove on your left hand. The glove should be the same dark metallic blue. Spray paint it or dye it as necessary.
Cut a two-inch triangle out of cardboard. Use hot glue to attach it to the front center of a motorcycle helmet. Use the blue metallic spray paint to paint the helmet and the cardboard triangle. Allow it to dry.
Make a three-inch circular ring using modeling clay. Allow the clay to dry and set completely, according to package directions. Spray paint the ring with a light blue metallic paint that matches your shirt and tights. Repeat this to create a second ring.
Attach the two rings to either side of the helmet using hot glue. The rings should be positioned over where you ears would be. Use red paint to paint the inside base of the rings.
Create two square cubes measuring 2 inches by 2 inches by 1 inch thick out of modeling clay. Make one rectangle measuring four inches by two inches by one inch thick. Allow the clay to dry. Spray paint the three clay pieces using the light blue metallic paint. Allow the paint to dry.
Attach the three pieces to the top center of the helmet. Place one square in the front center of the helmet, about an inch above the cardboard triangle. Place the long rectangle and inch above the first square. Place the second square an inch below the rectangle. Allow the glue to dry.
