How to Spray on Stop Leak

Save

Stop Leak is a spray product that helps seal leaks on most surfaces. With Stop Leak you can seal leaks on kitchen and bath sink pipes, gutters, roofs, walls and more. Stop Leak was originally sold under the name LeakEnder 2000, as it was advertised on TV infomercials in the early 2000s. It is now sold online and in some hardware stores. While Stop Leak can stop some water leaks, it is only a temporary seal until you fix the leak permanently.

Things You'll Need

  • Towel
  • Turn off the water supply to the house, if you are fixing a water pipe. Locate the main water supply valve and turn it off.

  • Wipe the area clean that you intend to treat with Stop Leak, using a dry towel. Remove any debris and grease with the towel and leave the area dry.

  • Spray a thick layer of Stop Leak over the leak. Let Stop Leak dry for at least 15 minutes.

  • Turn on the water supply if necessary, and test the area where you repaired the leak. Spray on another layer of Stop Leak if the leak persists. Let the second layer of Stop Leak dry for at least 30 minutes. Test the leak again. If it is still leaking then you will have to pursue a more permanent solution.
