Things You'll Need

  • Hot water

  • Cleaning formula

  • Sink

The Hoover TurboPower 5200 SteamVac is a residential carpet cleaner meant to deep clean carpets, bare floors, upholstery and other areas. Available for purchase online or in various department, home retail or appliance stores, the SteamVac should only be used when plugged into a grounded electrical supply with a three-prong outlet. In addition, the appliance should be kept away from children and pets to avoid the possible risk of injury due to the use of chemicals, hot water, electricity and the sheer weight of the unit.

Squeeze the trigger on the handle to dispense the hot cleaning solution onto the carpet. Move the cleaner over the wet area, then pull it back over the same damp area. Push the vacuum over the same area without dispensing the cleaner.

Step 6

Repeat the wet and dry passes over the entire carpet. Turn the power switch "Off" and unplug the SteamVac when finished cleaning.
