How to Clean Grout With Household Products
Grout can be used nearly anywhere around the home, fitting in between tiles or stones to give a smooth, finished look to your floor, shower or backsplash. To keep the grout looking its best, you want to clean it regularly with a routine that removes any buildup from the grout without causing damage. Things You'll Need
- Cleaning rags
- Dish soap
- Baking soda
- Nylon scrub brush
- Old toothbrush
- Bowl

Wipe down the grout as needed with a damp cleaning rag. If needed, add a few drops of dish soap to the rag and continue scrubbing. Use a toothbrush to get into smaller grout lines.

Sprinkle baking soda over the grout and scrub with a wet nylon scrub brush or old toothbrush. Wipe down with a damp cleaning rag to remove leftover residue.

Make a paste of one part water to three parts baking soda and scrub into heavily soiled grout. Again, wipe down the grout with a damp cleaning rag to remove the paste residue.
