How to Find the Model Number of a Gas Stove

Save

Although every gas stove has a model number, the process you follow to find the number varies. By and large, most gas stove manufacturers place a sticker or metal plate that has information about the stove, including the model number, somewhere on the stove. You may need to do a little searching for the sticker or the plate. Once you find it, the model number will consist of either a series of numbers or a series of numbers and letters, which will be marked as "Model No." to distinguish it from the serial number.

  • Look on the bottom of the fuse cover.

  • Check under one of the surface burners if the top lifts up.

  • Open the oven door. Check either the lower left corner or the upper left corner of the inside of the oven.

  • Look for the number on the top of the vent duct if you have a down-draft range.

  • Open the lower storage door and look on the left side of the drawer.

  • Check the outside bottom of the stove. You may need to move the stove away from the wall to see this area.
