How to Add Free Coupons to My Site

Coupons are a quick way to notify shoppers of your discounts and to attract new buyers. You can use online tools to create a free coupon and then display it on your website. There are a number of ways to display the coupons. Some tools allow you to embed the coupon directly on your website, so it blends in seamlessly with the rest of your page. Others let you add a text or image link that directs shoppers to the coupon page.

Coupon Tank

Sign up for a free account at Coupon Tank and log in. With this option, you can make one free coupon each month.

Click the "Create Coupon" link in the bottom pane of the dashboard to create and customize your coupon.

Enter a coupon name into the "Name your coupon" text field.

Click the area of the coupon you want to customize, such as its background, layout, logo and text. Click "Save" when you are finished.

Go to the "SiteLinks" section and click "Create SiteLink."

Enter a site link name, such as "Car Wash Services". Select the coupon you want to add and choose when you'd like the coupon to display on your website. Options include: "Always display this coupon" and "Display from."

Click "Save Site Link." You are redirected to the dashboard.

Go to the SiteLinks section and right-click on the link beside "Your Site Link homepage is:" Select "Copy Shortcut" (Internet Explorer), "Copy Link Location" (Firefox) or "Copy Link Address" (Opera) from the pop-up menu. The full website address to the coupon is copied.

Minimize your web browser and go to section four to add the code.

Free Coupon Maker

Click the "Get Started" button at Free Coupon Maker. You are directed to a new page to customize your coupon.

Select "Online Coupon" for the template. Click the "Browse" button and double-click the image you want to add.

Enter a title, description, promo code and expiration date for the coupon. Check "I am authorized to create this coupon" and enter the CAPTCHA verification code.

Click "Create" if the preview looks fine. Otherwise, click "Go Back" to edit it some more.

Highlight the code under "Embed your coupon on your site." Press "Ctrl"+"C" to copy it and minimize the web browser. Go to section four to add the code.

One Minute Coupon

Sign up for a free account at One Minute Coupon.

Click "Create Coupons." You are directed to a page to customize your coupon.

Highlight any existing words you want to change and type in the details of your coupon. Select the "Font Format," "Font Size" and style you want to apply.

Select "Click here" in the right pane to insert an image. Browse to find an image in the dialog box and double-click it. Click "Add Images." Click the "create" button and drag the image from the right onto the coupon.

Click the "Save" button when you are done.

Select the "share" link at the top of your page. To embed the code, click the "iframe" tab. To link to the coupon from text on your website, select the "text link" tab. To link to the coupon from an image on your website, click the "image link tab to".

Highlight the generated code and press "Ctrl"+"C" to copy it. Minimize the web browser and go to section four to add the code.

Add the Code

Open the HTML file for your site in a text editor, such as Notepad, TextPad or EditPad.

Place your cursor where you want the free coupon to display. To insert the code from Free Coupon Maker or One Minute Coupon, press "Ctrl"+"V" to paste it and skip to step five. To insert the code from Coupon Tank, add the following HTML code instead:

<a href="" />Your Text Link</a>

Replace "" with the actual link to the coupon at Coupon Tank. To paste the link you copied from Coupon Tank, press "Ctrl"+"V" to add it.

Replace "Your Text Link" with the text you want people to see on your site.

Select "File" and "Save" from the menu to update the HTML file.
