Many above-ground pools are closed down for the winter. This protects the pool and its equipment from the cold. One part of the closing process is the installation of a winter cover. Winter covers keep leaves and other debris from entering and harming the pool water. In this way, the pool liner is protected, making it easier to open the pool the following summer. Installing the cover isn't difficult.
Unfold and spread out your winter cover by your pool with the cover top facing up. Locate the side of the cover with the cord ends and move that side closest to the pool.
Pick up the cover end with the cord ends and slide it onto the pool wall. Tie the cord ends loosely to the pool wall. Walk around the pool as you pull the cover up and onto the pool wall. Ensure the cover edges are snug against the pool's walls.
Retie the cord ends tightly to keep the cover firmly in place during the winter season.
Tips & Warnings
- If any water gets on the cover during the installation process, use a small pump or shop vacuum to suck the water off it.
