How to Polish Flagstone

Flagstone is a common stone for home building. In fact, flagstones are commonly used for paving driveways or walkways in gardens. The first step to polishing flagstone is cleaning it to ensure that it is free of dust and dirt before you add a protective layer of polish. Polish flagstone as often as needed to keep it sparkling.

Things You'll Need

  • Liquid dish soap
  • Stone polish
  • Cloths
  • Mix 1 cup of lukewarm water with 2 drops of liquid dish soap.

  • Apply the soapy solution to the flagstone with a scrubbing brush. Scrub until you remove the dirt and debris on the flagstone.

  • Rinse the flagstone with clear water and dry it completely.

  • Spray the flagstone with natural stone polish. Use as little polish as possible.

  • Rub the polish into the flagstone with a clean cloth. Rub in a circular motion until the flagstone has a bright and polished surface.

  • Buff off the polish with another clean cloth until the surface is shiny and dry.
