How to Program a Scientific Atlanta Remote

Scientific Atlanta creates many products for televisions. The company makes TV set boxes for cable, Internet modems and TV remotes. All of these provide you with cable television services through your cable provider. When your cable set box is installed, you must program the remote to work with the TV before you can use it. The way you program your Scientific Atlanta remote depends on what TV you own.

  • Find your specific TV programming code (See Resources). This is a unique number that is used when programming the remote to the TV. Notice that there may be multiple codes for one brand. You can only try a code during the programming process. If one is not accepted, try one of the others listed under that model.

  • Turn your TV on.

  • Press and hold the "Select" and "TV" buttons simultaneously.

  • Enter the TV's programming code. The mode buttons on the remote will blink to indicate that the code was accepted.

  • Test the remote with the TV by pressing "Power" and "Channel." If these work, then your remote was programmed to the TV successfully.
