How to Make the Bullet Paper Air Plane

Paper airplanes are easy for children to create and fun to play with.

Paper airplanes are a common craft at home and school. Paper airplanes are easy to make and can be made in many shapes and sizes. Planes are designed to create lift and drag and be aerodynamic. Bullet Paper planes are streamlined, dart-looking planes. They are not very stable while in flight but will fly fast. Creating a bullet plane requires compact folds and firm creases to stay together and fly correctly.

Instructions

1. Print the fold diagram sheet from the Fun Paper Airplanes website (see Reference). Turn the printed paper to a landscape position with the lines being on the other side of the paper. Fold the top two corners into the center of the paper creating two triangles that meet in the middle.

2. Fold both sides toward the middle again, one at a time along Line 2. This will create a pointed nose for the tip of the plane as the folds meet in the middle. Fold the left side along Line 3 over, making a crisp crease, then repeat with the right side. The plane will become narrower as the folds are made.

3. Fold the tip of the nose down toward your body. Fold the right half of the plane over Line 4, the left half making the wing edges line up. Create firm creases each fold you make.

4. Fold down the "5" lines to create the wings. Fold the "6" lines up to create winglets. Tilt the wings up slightly and fly the plane.

Tips & Warnings

• Create crisp creases to ensure the plane stays together and flies well.
