You can make metal letters from sheets of copper for a dramatic set of house numbers or decorative home accessories. Copper sheets can be purchased from home improvement stores and can be cut into any form with a pair of wire cutters. The metal letters could be used in a back hall over a set of coat hooks that designate each member of the family. Or one large metal letter could be incorporated into a grouping of photographs that are hung over a sofa.
Things You'll Need
- Card stock paper
- Copper sheet
- Black crayon
- Wire cutters
- Old rag
Select a font and font size on the computer's word processor for a metal letter template.
Print the letter on card stock in the printer and cut out the letter with the scissors.
Trace around the letter on the copper sheet with the black crayon.
Cut out the letter with the wire cutters.
Wipe off any remnants of the crayon with the old rag. Sand the edges of the letter with the sandpaper.
