How to Clean an Old, Dirty Marble Floor

Marble is a calcareous stone, which means it is composed mostly of calcium carbonate. It is sensitive to acids and so no acidic cleaners should be used. Marble floors should be swept clean daily to remove dirt and dust. As needed, the floors should be mopped to remove any other residue or dirt. Typically, the only item needed to clean a marble floor is water. It will clean and restore the natural shine to marble. However, to clean an old, dirty marble floor, a marble cleaner can also be used.
