Instructions for M&M Candy Halloween Costumes
M&Ms are one of the most identifiable candies, with their solid-color candy coating and imprinted white M. These chocolate candies started in 1941 as a treat for American soldiers. Over the years, the candies have changed packaging and gained new flavors, such as peanut and pretzel, but their general appearance has remained the same. If you are looking for a unique Halloween costume that represents this recognizable candy, making your own costume takes little time and effort.

1
Tie a piece of string to the middle of a pencil. Tie the other end of the string to a thumbtack. Insert the thumbtack into the center of a piece of cardboard. Pull the string taut and draw a circle using the string as a guide. Repeat this on a second piece of cardboard and cut out both circles using scissors, removing the thumbtack when you are done. The size of the circle depends on the size you want the costume to be.

2
Place the circles on a large piece of felt in the color you want your M&M to be. Trace the shape of the circles onto the felt and cut the felt circles. Attach the felt to the cardboard using hot glue.

3
Cut out two strips of felt measuring 2 inches thick and 8 to 10 inches long. The length depends on your body size. Hot glue the two straps to the inside of the cardboard circles. Space them so that they will rest on your shoulders once attached.

Cut out four straps of felt, each measuring 1/2 inch thick and 4 inches long. Use a hot glue gun to attach them to the inside of the cardboard circles, one on each side edge. These will be used to tie the sides of the costume.

5
Cut out a large, lower-case "m" from a piece of white felt. Hot-glue the letter onto the center of the front felt-covered circle to finish the costume.
