How to Remove the Subwoofer From an Infiniti G35

Select Infiniti vehicles are equipped with a factory-installed subwoofer as part of the audio system. The subwoofer is mounted in the rear deck, and it includes an integrated amplifier, so replacement of this subwoofer is best accomplished with a factory-replacement module that includes both the speaker and the amplifier. Access to the subwoofer is through the deck, with removal of the speaker's grille.

Things You'll Need

• Panel tool
• Phillips screwdriver

Instructions

1. Insert the tip of a panel tool under the edge of the subwoofer's grille. The subwoofer is mounted in the center of the rear deck, flanked on either side by the rear deck's full-range speakers. Pry upward on the grille with the tool, working around the edge until the grille is completely loose and can be removed.

2. Loosen and remove six Phillips screws on the perimeter of the subwoofer. Lift the subwoofer out of the deck when the screws have been removed.

3. Unplug the wiring connector attached to the back of the speaker, and remove the speaker and and amplifier module from the vehicle.
