How to Remove Dashes in 1994 Chevrolets
The 1994 Chevrolet shares a common platform with the S-10 pickup GMC Jimmy and GMC Sonoma. The most common reason to remove a dash from a vehicle is to replace the heater core. Dashboards vary among Chevrolet models, but the core idea behind the process remains the same. Be sure to remove all bolts, screws and connectors, as well as the radio, and you can then lift the dash from the dashboard with ease.

1
Park the vehicle on a level surface, and set the parking brake.
-
2
Lift the vehicle's hood and disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Close the hood when finished.
-
-
3
Remove the two screws on each of the lower dash panels inside the front of the car with a Phillips screwdriver. Then, pull the panels from the dashboard and set them aside.
-
4
Unscrew two screws on the underside of the dashboard and remove the bezel from the instrument panel. Be sure to pull the bezel from the dashboard while the securing clips are disengaged.
-
5
Remove two bolts, located at the top and bottom of the radio, with the ratchet socket. Pull the radio from the dashboard. Then, disconnect the electrical connector and antenna, and set the radio aside.
-
6
Remove the bolt from the pivot bracket, located at each end of the dash's underside, with a socket. Then, locate the two Torx head screws near the bolts and remove them with a Torx bit.
-
7
Remove the four bolts that hold the steering column to its bracket using a socket, and let the steering column hang downward.
-
8
Remove the last large bolt located on the bottom of the dash with a socket (slightly on center's right).
-
9
Pry the speaker and defroster grills from the dash with a small and flat screwdriver. Use a socket to remove the smaller bolts, located under the grills, and pivot the dash toward the rear of the Chevrolet. Then, disconnect all electrical connectors. Find the main electrical connector on the right side of the dash, and remove the bowl with a socket. Unplug the connector.
-
10
Pull the dash from the pivots and carefully remove the dash from the vehicle.
