How to Make Your Own Rhinestone Tee
Designing a T-shirt with rhinestone embellishments can add some dazzle to a previously ordinary shirt. T-shirts, while typically thought of as casual attire, can be taken to a more dressed up and glamorous level by adding glitzy details like rhinestones. Since this glitzy shirt will likely be meant for a dressy or stylish event, you will want the most professional-looking product possible. Navigate to a custom T-shirt design website that has the ability to add embellishments such as rhinestones.

Select beaded design or beaded lettering to begin from the window that opens on the page.

Click on the type of rhinestone you want to use by clicking on the picture on the right hand side of the screen.

Select the font by clicking on the field in the font box on the left-hand side of the screen. Click on the desired font to select it from the drop-down menu that opens.

Drag the corners of the text box to enlarge or shrink the size of the text.

Type the desired text in the text field. Move the text around to the desired spot on the shirt by clicking on the blank area of the shirt to deselect, then clicking and dragging the text field to the ideal position.

Switch between the front and the back of the shirt by clicking on the icons on the top left corner of the screen.

Change the shirt color by clicking "Change Color" in the top left of the screen. Select a shirt color from the drop-down menu that opens.

Preview your design by clicking "View on Model" in the top left corner of the screen.

Click "Add to Cart" to order when you are satisfied with the design.
Manual Gluing

Lay out the flat back rhinestones in the desired layout on the shirt.

Survey the laid-out design to make sure the rhinestones are in the proper placement and make changes as necessary.

Apply a fabric- or gem-specific glue, such as GemTac Glue, to the back of each rhinestone one at a time and press the gem down on the fabric for several seconds to seal in the glue. Cover the entire back of the rhinestone with glue so that when pressed down the glue oozes out slightly to cover the edge of the rhinestone. This will protect the rhinestone from separating from its backing after several wears and washes.

Allow to dry completely before moving onto another section of fabric that will require moving the T-shirt, such as the back. The glue will change from white to clear when it is dry.

Allow to dry completely before wearing.
