How to Change a Light Bulb in a Maytag Neptune
Maytag Neptune washers and dryers have a number of user-friendly features. One of those features is a light bulb to illuminate the drum or wash tub when loading and unloading clothes. Like all incandescent bulbs, the light in the appliance burns out over time. Changing a light bulb in a Maytag Neptune requires a replacement candelabra base bulb. Maytag Neptune Washer

Unplug the Maytag Neptune washer power cord from the electrical wall outlet. Open the washer door and remove the screw securing the lens cover to the door latch with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

Pull down on the lens cover with your fingers to reveal the light bulb. Turn the light bulb counter-clockwise and remove it from the socket.

Insert a new 10-watt candelabra base bulb into the socket and turn clockwise until it stops.

Place the front tabs of the lens cover into the door latch assembly and push the rear tabs until the lens snaps into position. Secure the lens cover with the retaining screw.

Close the Maytag Neptune washer door and plug the power cord into the electrical outlet.
Maytag Neptune Dryer

Unplug the Maytag Neptune dryer cord from the outlet. Open the dryer door and locate the light lens cover at the front of the tumbler.

Remove the screw securing the lens cover with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the front of the lens cover toward the center of the tumbler and remove it from the dryer.

Twist the bulb counter-clockwise and remove it from the socket. Place a new 10-watt candelabra base bulb into the socket and turn the bulb clockwise to secure.

Push the lens cover back into place over the bulb until the tabs lock inside the bulb housing. Secure with the retaining screw.

Close the dryer door and plug the Maytag Neptune dryer cord back into the dryer outlet.
