How to Operate an iPhone

The Apple iPhone is sold exclusively for the AT&T 3G mobile network. The iPhone works similarly to the iPod Touch with the exception that the iPhone is not just an iPod, but also a cell phone. Unlike the iPod Touch, the iPhone doesn't need to connect to a Wi-Fi network to browse the Internet because it has data access through the 3G network from AT&T. Operating an iPhone is simple and requires no special skills.

  • Press and hold the "On/Off" switch at the top of the iPhone for three seconds until a silver apple appears on the screen to power on your iPhone.

  • Press and hold the "On/Off" switch at the top of the iPhone for seven seconds until you get a "slide to power off" message with a red arrow. Slide the red arrow all the way to the right with your finger to power off the iPhone.

  • Press and hold both the "On/Off" switch at the top of the iPhone and the "Home" button at the bottom of the iPhone for 15 seconds to reset the iPhone.

  • Press and hold the "On/Off" switch, press the "Home" button, and then release both buttons to take a screenshot of your device.

  • Slide the silver arrow at the left of the "slide to unlock" message to unlock your iPhone and access the iPhone Springboard (Home).

  • Press an app icon to "launch" that application on your iPhone.
