How to Install a Battery in an Isuzu Truck

Installing a battery in one Isuzu truck is going to be the same as installing a battery in every Isuzu truck. Inside the engine compartment where the battery rests, a mount secures the battery in place. Isuzu trucks will work with any 12V truck battery, which you can find at an auto store or super center. You will need little in the way of tools and can do the job right in your driveway.

Things You'll Need

• Box-end wrench set
• Replacement battery

Instructions

1. Remove the battery cables starting with the negative (black) cable. Loosen the securing clamp on the battery cable using the corresponding wrench. Pull the cables off the stock battery.

2. Remove the nuts securing the plastic mount using the appropriate box-end wrench. Remove the mount and pull the battery from the engine compartment.

3. Place the new battery into the engine compartment. Place the mount onto the new battery and tighten the nuts to secure the battery. Connect the battery cables to the new battery in reverse of how you disconnected them.
