How Do I Remove the Panels on a 2008 4 Door Honda Civic?
The door panels of your 2008 Honda Civic contain the speakers, window regulators, outside door handle bolts, door locks, window controls, keyless entry controls, accent lights and side view mirrors. If any of these parts need to be replaced or upgraded, the door panels must be removed. Follow the steps below and you can easily remove the panels on your Honda Civic with two screwdrivers.

Open the door completely. Pull the interior door handle back to access the plastic access door. Use a flat head screwdriver inserted into the small opening to gently pry the access door off, revealing a screw and a black plastic bolt. Remove the screw and press on the center of the bolt with the screwdriver to pop it up then pull it out.

Use the flat head screwdriver to gently pry up on the back of the armrest. Once pried up, the armrest can be pulled up and away from the door. There are several wiring connectors behind the armrest, but leave them connected and allow the armrest to hang down. There is one more screw against the door panel that can be seen once the armrest is pulled out. Remove it with a Phillips head screwdriver.

Grab the opening where the armrest was and gently pull the door panel away from the door to loosen the clips holding the panel in place. Go around the outer edges of the panel and pry up with your hands to loosen any remaining clips until they pop. They will remain in the door panel and can simply be pushed back into place when installing the panel later.

Pull up on the door panel to unhook it from the top of the door. Lift from the sides, not the bottom, so that the panel doesn't bend in the middle. Pull the panel away from the door then look behind it and disconnect the large wiring connector that leads to the connectors at the armrest.
