How to Change Throttle Grips on a Motorcycle
While a sticky-feeling throttle can often be attributed to an improperly lubricated cable, the throttle twist grip can also create problems as wear begins to take its toll. This wear generally presents itself as a notchy feeling as the grip is twisted, usually created by a rough spot on the inside of the tube-like throttle grip. Replacing the throttle grip can restore the smooth operation of your motorcycle's throttle.

Tips & Warnings
Ideally, the throttle grip should provide one-eighth of an inch of movement before the throttle cables are pulled. Twist the throttle grip occasionally while tightening the throttle cables to check the cable tension.
