How to Remove Cloudiness From Glassware

Save

Glassware can appear dirty due to the age of the items or washing them in hard water. Dish detergents may not remove the cloudy appearance from your glass pieces, regardless of whether you soak and then hand-wash the items, or if you attempt to clean them using a dishwasher. An item that you may have never used to clean dishes before can break up deposits on glassware, removing the cloudiness from these pieces.

Things You'll Need

  • Sink
  • Water
  • Denture tablets
  • Soft sponge or soft-bristled brush
  • Soft cloth
  • Place the glassware items into a clean sink.

  • Fill the sink with enough lukewarm water so the water covers all of the glassware.

  • Add two to three denture tablets into the water. The water will fizz. Leave the glassware in the liquid for about 15 minutes.

  • Scrub the glassware gently with a soft sponge or soft-bristled brush while the glassware is under the liquid.

  • Remove the glassware from the liquid, and rinse the items with lukewarm water.

  • Wipe the glassware dry using a soft cloth, or let the glassware air dry.
