Kites are built for many reasons. A stunt kite is made so that the flyer can get the kite to do several tricks in the air. They are typically made from a lightweight material such as nylon. There are hundreds of possible designs to choose from when making a stunt kite. The following is one of the easiest and basic ways to build a stunt kite.

  • Cardboard
  • Piece of nylon
  • Glue
  • Velcro
  • Thread
  • Coil

Instructions

    • 1

      Draw a template on stiff cardboard. Once finished, cut out the template carefully.

      Wrap a piece of nylon around the template, gluing the ends of the fabric with a thin line of glue.

      Apply Velcro around the edge of the template and gently press the fabric on to the Velcro.

    • 4

      Firmly glue a piece of thread to the center of the kite and wrap a spare meter of thread around a coil. Allow parts to dry and you're done.
