The Whirlpool RF395PXVW is a self-cleaning oven range. The self-clean cycle heats the inside of the oven at a very high temperature to burn away debris and stains. There are some parts of the oven that need to be cleaned by hand. It is important to follow the proper procedures when cleaning this oven to avoid damaging the surface.

Things You'll Need

  • Steel wool pads
  • Liquid dish detergent
  • Soft cloths
  • Open the oven door. Clean the door frame areas with steel wool and liquid dish detergent. Do not clean the gasket, as it may get damaged.

  • Wipe out any grease or loose soil from the oven. Grease left in the oven will produce smoke during the self-clean cycle.

  • Open the oven door. Wipe off any ash or residue with a damp cloth. Touch up any spots that did not get clean with a mild abrasive cleanser.

  • Wash the outside surface of the oven with a sponge and warm, soapy water. Rinse with clean water. Dry off the oven surface with a dry cloth.

  • Wash broiler pan and grid and oven racks with a steel-wool pad and warm, soapy water. Rinse with clean water and dry with a dry cloth.
