In the Sims 2, you don't control wizards or warriors, but instead everyday people engaging in everyday lives. A major part of game play entails keeping your characters happy. You do this by having them engage with the objects around them, such as bookcases and pool tables. One of the more useful objects your character can acquire is a computer. As in real life, computers can be both utilitarian and entertaining. If you choose, you can have your character play a video game on the computer. They can even join a LAN party if there are other computers in the same household.
Start the Sims 2. Either load a game or start a new one.
Purchase at least two computers for your character's household. You can purchase new goods by clicking on the money icon and selecting the item you wish to buy. Once you've bought it, place it somewhere in your household. You'll need a desk or table to put the computer on.
Direct your character to interact with the computer. If you have more than one computer in the household, then you'll have the option "Join LAN Party." Select that option. If you want other characters to join the LAN party, direct them to do the same.
