Plastic can become scuffed and dull given use and a length of time. What are you to do when your black plastic no longer holds a shiny gleam? The solution to restoring your item to its previous glory is absolutely achievable. The items needed to successfully restore shine to your black plastic item are generally inexpensive and can be found at your local hardware or auto parts store. This task can be accomplished with no professional training.
Step 1
Rub the sandpaper over the entire surface of the plastic in small, circular motions, this evens out any pitting-type damage that the plastic may have sustained.

Step 2
Pour some of the polishing compound onto your microfiber cloth.
Step 3
Rub the polishing compound into the plastic in a circular motion.
Step 4
Repeat as needed to polish the entire object.
Step 5
Put a small amount of wax onto the other microfiber cloth.
Step 6
Coat your plastic item's surface with this wax, rubbing in a circular motion and adding additional wax to your cloth as needed.
