E-mail is the first choice for many people when it comes to sending messages, but fax machines remain the best method of instantly sending copies of documents. Faxing a two-sided document may seem like a challenge, but you can solve this problem with an extra step. All you need are a blank sheet of printer paper and a copier.
Things You'll Need
- Printer paper
Copy one side of the document you wish to fax. Ensure that you copy the sheet in its entirety.
Prepare a cover sheet. Word processing programs, such as MS Word, have cover sheet templates that you can use. Enter your contact’s name and fax number as well as your name and fax number. Also enter the number of sheets you are sending. This number should include the cover sheet.
Place the original document over the copy. Ensure that the side of the original document that you did not copy is the side that is facing up. Place the cover sheet, face up, on top of the original document.
Insert the sheets into the fax machine, printed side down. Press the speaker button and enter your contact’s fax number when you hear the dial tone.
Wait for both fax machines to connect. You will hear a high-pitched sound when they connect. When you hear this sound, press the “Start” button to begin sending the papers. The machine will send the papers and automatically disconnect at the end of the process.
