How to Replace a Dryer Fuse
If your dryer is no longer heating up or has stopped functioning altogether, the dryer's fuse has probably blown. The fuse will usually blow to prevent the dryer from overheating and causing a fire hazard if there is a malfunction, such as the vents becoming blocked. You can either call a repairman to replace the fuse or save some time and money and do it yourself. The fuse is usually located in the back of the dryer and is not hard to find. Unplug your dryer from the power outlet in the wall. Pull the dryer away from the wall so that you can gain access to the back cover panel.

Take off the back cover panel by removing the screws. Save the screws in a safe place. Remove the panel. The back cover panel on some dryers may also have clips securing it to the wall of the dryer. In this case, lift the panel up and slide it off the clips.

Locate the fuse. The fuse is usually a small white plastic or metal bar with two wires attached to it by connectors. It will be located close to the group of wires in the back of the dryer.

Remove the fuse. Hold the wires by the connectors and pull them off the fuse. Discard the fuse.

Attach the connectors to the new fuse and replace the back cover panel. Make sure both the fuse and the panel are connected and secure.

Plug your dryer back into the wall outlet and run a cycle to ensure that it is working properly.

Tips & Warnings
Examine the vent when you are replacing the fuse to ensure that there is no blockage or obstruction that will damage the dryer.
