1
Go to the Swimming Pool website and use the Design A Pool feature (see References). It walks you through everything from the shape of your pool to the accessories you might want to add, all within a simple drag and drop interface. This site doesn't have a specific tool to rotate items. Instead, you simply hold "shift" and drag the item to rotate it, which can be difficult if you are using a laptop without a mouse but is faster if you are using a desktop computer.

Go to the Pool People USA website and use the Design My Pool feature (see References). It doesn't offer as many options as some of the other tools. The graphics are a little rough and there aren't as many objects available to drag and drop to decorate your pool. However, if you're just trying to give a contractor a rough idea, it will get the job done.

Go to the My Dream Pool website and use its pool design software. It is easier to use than most of the online pool design tools. It walks you through the design process step-by-step, starting with the shape of your pool and ending with the recommended pool maintenance systems for your area. It is unique in that it lets you choose the color of your pool liner and has more decor options than most of the other pool design tools.

Tips & Warnings
Remember that your contractor knows what they're doing and there are a lot of factors that affect the type of pool they are able to build in your yard. Your pool might not end up being exactly like the one you designed, but this will make it a lot easier for them to see what you have in mind and make your meetings more productive.
