Candy Train Instructions
Candy makes for inexpensive party favors and inexpensive crafting supplies. Take different pieces of candy that are available at grocery stores and piece them together to make a candy train. Give the trains out as party favors at a train- or transportation-themed birthday party. Or attach a small loop of ribbon to the top of the candy train and hang it as an ornament on your Christmas tree.
Things You'll Need
- Low-temperature hot glue gun
- Hot glue sticks
- Tube of round candies, 3 to 4 inches in length and 3/4 inch in diameter (e.g., Lifesavers)
- 5-piece pack of stick gum
- 4 individually wrapped peppermints
- Hershey Kiss
- Rollo or wrapped caramel cube
- Mini chocolate bar

Plug in the low-temperature hot glue gun. Insert a hot glue stick in the hole in the back of the gun. Wait approximately 5 minutes for the gun to warm up.

Hot glue a tube of round hard candies, such as a roll of Lifesavers, onto one of the wider sides of a five-piece pack of gum. Apply a single line of hot glue along the length of the pack of gum and then attach the tube of candy.

Place a dot of hot glue onto each peppermint wrapper. Attach a peppermint to each corner of the tube of candies to look like four wheels on the train.

Place a dot of glue on the bottom of the Hershey Kiss. Attach the Kiss to the top of the tube of candies at one end, with the pointy part of the Kiss pointing up.

Place a small dot of glue on the bottom of a Rollo or caramel. Attach the Rollo or wrapped caramel cube to the top of the tube of round candies at the end opposite the Hershey Kiss.

Hot glue a miniature chocolate bar on top of the Rollo or caramel so that the overhang from the bar is facing the Hershey Kiss.

Tips & Warnings
Do not unwrap any of the candy when assembling the train. The wrapper protects the candy from the glue; therefore, the candy can still be consumed.
The hot glue will set almost instantly and will be completely cool within a couple minutes, so you have to work fast when gluing on the candies.
