Learn how to wear a shoulder holster.

Shoulder holsters offer a gun owner the ability to comfortably conceal a weapon under a coat or jacket. These holsters evenly distribute the weight of the handgun across the upper body, and keep the handgun accessible just underneath the armpit. This apparatus is commonly used by members of law enforcement, to conceal and transport their sidearm comfortably. Properly wearing and adjusting your shoulder holster will ensure comfort and allow you to carry your firearm under your arm in a concealed manner.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert your arms into the harness loops. This is the same as putting on a backpack.

    • 2

Adjust the sliding strap adjusters on both straps to tighten or loosen the holster. You can slide them up to tighten, and down to loosen.

    • 3

Check your weapon to ensure that it is on a safe setting. Insert the weapon into the holster and secure the holster button strap.

    • 4

Put on your jacket and check to ensure that you cannot see a bulge under the arm. If you can notice the weapon, adjust the holster position so it is directly under your armpit.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some states do not allow concealed handgun carry, or require a special permit, and typically the handgun must be in plain view if it is allowed to be carried. However, shoulder holsters are available to purchase whether or not this is legal in your state. Check your local gun laws prior to carrying your handgun in a concealed manner.
